Job Description

The Scribe will assist the provider with the completion of dictations to improve the efficiency and quality of each patient visit and the overall clinic flow.

Job Requirements

1. High School Diploma, GED, or certificate from college or technical school.
2. 3 to 6 months of related experience.
3. Certificate from a medical assistant program preferred.
4. Ability to type 45 WPM and basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook / Office.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients by listening and appropriately serving them.
• Relay relevant information to the appropriate internal staff.
• Assist the provider in navigating the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Enter information into the EHR as directed by the provider.
• Research information as requested by the provider.
• Respond to various messages as requested by the provider.
• Assist physicians/physician assistants with documenting patient care in the electronic medical record and ensure all services ordered are properly coded.
• Participate in office meetings and educational activities.
• Comply with HIPAA procedures.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
