Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Medical Science Liaison for NMOSD & gMG in the DC area to support local and regional scientific initiatives. The role covers MD, DE, DC, and Northern VA, focusing on communicating clinical data and supporting medical affairs strategies.

The candidate will engage healthcare partners, educate on clinical value, and contribute to payer discussions, with opportunities for speaker training and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree required or equivalent experience.
• Master’s degree with 3+ years Medical Affairs experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years Medical Affairs experience.
• PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO preferred.
• Two years of scientific or medical affairs experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals.
• Three+ years of clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research; rare disease expertise.

Responsibilities

• Educate and communicate clinical and scientific data to payers, providers, key partners, advocacy, and access enablers.
• Support MSL strategies and tactics; liaise with investigators in non-sponsored studies.
• Develop local engagement plans; implement congress activities in line with strategy.
• Provide field observations, insights, and training leadership as needed.
• Ensure compliance with MSL standards and maintain scientific accuracy.

Education

Doctorate degree

Master’s degree + 3 years Medical Affairs experience

Bachelor’s degree + 5 years Medical Affairs experience

PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO

Clinical practice or medical research experience

Rare Disease therapeutic area expertise
