Job summary

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol is seeking a Medical Response Technician who will provide basic protection for patrons, employees and assets under the Security Department. The role requires an outgoing, customer‑oriented demeanor at all times and adherence to Virginia Lottery regulations.

Responsibilities include maintaining security across the property, assisting in emergencies, providing basic EMS care within certification limits, documenting thoroughly, and ensuring equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year guest service experience or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery regulations; must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security throughout the property.
• Assist in coordination of emergency situations and provide basic EMS care within certification limits.
• Disinfect and maintain EMS equipment and treatment rooms as required.
• Report unusual situations and suspicious persons; complete medical call documentation.
• Notify supervisors of equipment or supply issues and replenish as needed.
• Adhere to Virginia Lottery Regulations and departmental policies.

Position Summary

Under the direction of Security Department supervisors and managers, the Medical Response Technician is responsible for providing basic protection for the safety and assets of patrons, employees and the company. In addition, they will exhibit an outgoing, friendly customer‑oriented personality at all times.

Essential Functions

• Maintain security throughout the entire property.
• Assist in the coordination of emergency situations.
• Provide emergency medical care within limits of certification.
• Disinfect and maintain cleanliness of EMS equipment, supplies and treatment rooms as per the requirements of daily assignments.
• Conduct oneself in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Patrol the casino areas to establish a security presence and report all unusual situations and/or suspicious persons.
• Complete thorough documentation of all medical calls.
• Complete all required checklists for inventory and inspections of supplies and equipment.
• Notify a supervisor of any problems with equipment and/or supplies and make note of supplies that require replenishing.
• Replace supplies as necessary and report missing supplies to a supervisor.
• Perform work regularly and adhere to all Virginia Lottery Regulations.

Non‑essential Job Functions

• Attend seminars when needed.

Education and/or Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is required and a minimum of one (1) year of guest service experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements

• Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery regulations.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must successfully pass a drug screening.
• Prior experience in the gaming industry strongly preferred.
• Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age.
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must promote an outgoing, friendly customer‑oriented personality at all times.
• Must provide adequate protection for the safety and assets of patrons, employees, and the company.
• Must handle emergency situations calmly.
• Must be able to wear a radio earphone without any medical limitations.
• Must be willing to appropriately handle bodily fluids and possibly hazardous situations.
• Must have a valid Motor Vehicle License with a good driving record.

Knowledge Of

• Computer applications required to compose clear, concise, and accurate reports.
• Must obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and gaming regulations.

Ability To

• Be available to work different types of events with varying time schedules, on varying days as needed.
• Read and comprehend all necessary documentation, training materials and policy information.
• Assist sick or injured guests and/or team members.
• Communicate courteously, effectively, and professionally with guests and all levels of team members.
• Use tools and equipment such as radios, computers, and other equipment specific to the position.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Communicate clearly, in English, with guests in a professional manner.
• Work within company‑established policies/guidelines.
