Job summary

• Completion of a medical assisting or medical office assistant program preferred.
• Minimum of four years' experience in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Process patient referrals for market practices and coordinate referrals to outside facilities.
• Facilitate order placement to outside facilities as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling of office visits for referred patients.
• Assist patients in finding resources that accept various insurances.
• Obtain pre-authorization from payers.
• Call insurance companies to obtain approvals when medications are denied due to formulary changes.
