UTHealth Houston’s School of Dentistry is hiring a Medical Records Technician I to join a team focused on accurate electronic and physical records management. The role emphasizes confidentiality and compliance with Medicaid/Medicare and organizational guidelines to support services payments.

Ideal candidates will have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and strong written communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Prior healthcare records experience is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of Electronic Health Records software.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc.).
• High school diploma required.

Aufgaben

• Locates and retrieves records to audit and verify patient information.
• Updates client charts in the electronic health record with information in a timely manner.
• Tracks location of charts and related information using established processes.
• Responds to information requests in person, by email, in the EHR, or by phone promptly.
• Maintains compliance with privacy rules.
• Locates and prepares charts or information as requested in a timely manner.
• Participates in privacy monitoring processes.
• Corrects inaccuracies including duplicate patient records.
