• Perform collection, processing, filing and maintenance of medical records
• Arrange all chart forms and correspondence reports in appropriate order
• Adhere to medico-legal requirements when answering correspondence and inquiries
• Obtain missing chart contents to complete medical records
• Uphold a checkout and return system for medical records and maintain confidentiality
• Arrange safe off-site storage for microfilming
• Serve as liaison between the surgery center and the transcription company
