Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical record integrity by filing, assembling, and retrieving confidential patient records.
• Process admissions and maintain master patient index; create folders for new patient records.
• Scan paper documents into the EHR and review scanned images for accuracy and legibility.
• Assign patient charts for approved external reviews using electronic health record routines.
• Maintain paper files by tracking, retrieving, or purging records.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state/federal guidelines for patient information security.
• Assist patients with records requests and provide department support as needed.
