GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to manage inmate and detainee medical records. You will file records, attach relevant information by date of service or incarceration, and ensure physician signatures on studies.

The role involves responding to requests from health providers and staff, scheduling external consultations, and producing monthly statistics in a secure environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with medical records system preferred or training in an accredited program.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling records.

Responsibilities

• File medical records in alphabetical order using color-coded system.
• Attach information in each record by incarceration/service dates.
• Obtain physician signatures on diagnostic studies.
• Provide records to health providers and administrative staff on request.
• Schedule appointments with external health professionals.
• Prepare monthly statistics.
• Perform secretarial duties.
