Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Bakersfield, California, is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to maintain and distribute patient records within the service area. You will perform clerical duties, index scanned documents, and ensure accurate patient data linkage to encounters.

Under supervision, you will compile performance statistics, train staff on scanning/indexing procedures, and support the department's quality control of image quality and indexing accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years health records clerical experience.
• Proficiency in data entry and document indexing.
• Ability to compose basic correspondence and read English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute medical records in the service area.
• Index scanned images and link patient data to encounters.
• Prepare appointment schedules and chart reviews.
• Train and orient new staff in scanning and indexing processes.
• Respond to requests for chart reviews and maintain data accuracy.
• Ensure image quality and indexing specificity in the EMR.
