Qualifications

• Experience in medical records, health information management, or healthcare administration.
• Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute care settings preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality, and California documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with record retention, release-of-information, and secure storage.
• Experience with EHR systems and electronic document management.

Responsabilités

• Maintain accurate, complete resident medical records.
• Audit records for missing data, signatures, orders, and assessments.
• Coordinate with nursing/admin teams to resolve deficiencies.
• Manage EHR, filing, scanning, and record requests.
• Support audits, regulatory surveys and inspections.
• Oversee retention, storage, and confidentiality per HIPAA/California rules.
• Track outstanding documentation and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare records for requests, audits, transfers and needs.
• Develop and implement records procedures and practices.
• Supervise or coordinate medical records staff as needed.
