Job summary

Shawneespring of Harrison, a skilled nursing facility, is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to maintain accurate charts in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policies.

This role requires attention to detail, periodic audits, and coordination with physicians and staff; every other weekend is required.

Experience with PointClickCare and MS Word/Excel is preferred; competitive wages with medical and dental insurance offered.

Qualifications

• Maintains or is willing to obtain Medical Records Certification.
• Detail oriented person and can complete tasks on a need based schedule.
• PointClickCare experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine audits of in-house charts upon admission and at least quarterly.
• Provides notification to the staff on deficiencies found in the record and does follow-up.
• Assembles the medical records of discharged residents.
• Analyzes discharged charts for completeness and follows up with staff and physicians to ensure discharged records are completed.
• Processes requests for medical information per Administrator/Director and/or Risk Manager.
