BayCare is seeking a Medical Records Coder I for inpatient coding on a PRN remote role based in Florida. The position supports a 7:00am–3:30pm shift, Monday through Friday, with work-from-home status and residency in Florida required.

Responsibilities include assigning ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 codes, reviewing bill hold reports, and performing related duties. CCS certification is highly preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Preferred Associate Degree in Health Information Technology.
• Highly preferred CCS certification.
• Strong CPT knowledge required.

• Status: PRN (non-benefit eligible/ hours not guaranteed)
• Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Days: Monday through Friday

TheMedical Records Coder I is a PRN (non-benefit eligible) work-from-home position. Team members must reside in Florida.

Assigns diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding systems, monitors bill hold reports, and performs other duties as assigned.

Certifications and Licensures

• Highly preferred - Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

Education

• Required High School or equivalent
• Preferred Associate Degree in Health Information Technology

Experience

• Required medical coding technical training/ program
• Or 1 year related experience in lieu of medical coding technical training/ program
• Highly preferred - strong CPT knowledge
