Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a Medical Records Coder I to work from home in Florida. PRN, non-benefit eligible, hours not guaranteed, with shifts from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, in a remote role allocated to Florida residents.

Responsibilities include assigning diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4, monitoring bill hold reports, and performing other duties as assigned. Certification and CPT knowledge are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Associate Degree in Health Information Technology.

Certifications and Licensures

• Highly preferred - Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

Education

• Required High School or equivalent
• Preferred Associate Degree in Health Information Technology

Experience

• Required medical coding technical training/ program
• Or 1 year related experience in lieu of medical coding technical training/ program
• Highly preferred - strong CPT knowledge
