Job summary

Methodist Health System in Dallas, TX is seeking a Coder 2 to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and code inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedures using ICD10-CM, ICD10-PCS and CPT codes for optimal reimbursement.

This role establishes a robust database for case mix indices and supports statistical reporting and trend analysis. Hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

High school graduate or its equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of DRG based coding in an acute care hospital with encoder experience.
Proficient in detailed work and handling confidential patient information.
Excellent written and oral communication with physicians, other health care workers, administration, and health information management staff

In this highly technical and fast-paced position, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Coder 2 classifies and abstracts inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedures, which are assigned appropriate ICD10-CM, ICD10 PCS and/or CPT codes for optimal reimbursement. They establish an accurate database for case mix indices which provide statistical reporting and trend analysis. The Coder 2 is proficient in coding DRG based records as well as all other payers.
