Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk at Illinois River Correctional Center in Canton, IL. The role involves maintaining offender health records, retrieving records for appointments, filing data, and initiating records for new intakes.

Requires high school diploma or GED; CPR/BLS certification; background check and drug screen. Shift is Day, 40 hours per week, with a pay rate of $22.77 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or higher; RHIA/RHIT preferred but not required.
• Active CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience with medical records and services preferred.
• Ability to obtain security clearance including drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk to join our team at IL River Correctional Center located in Canton, Illinois.

The Medical Records Clerk maintains offender health records, retrieves health records for scheduled appointments, files offender health data, initiates records for new or transferred intakes. They review health records for completeness, files records as required, prepares reports as needed and more.

Hourly pay rate of $22.77 Per hour

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
• Certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred but not required
• Prior experience with medical records and services
• Completion of a medical terminology course preferred
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ BLS
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Available Shift: Day Shift; 7AM-3PM M-F; 40 hours per week.
