The Medical Receptionist provides reception and clerical services under the supervision of the practice manager and physicians. Responsibilities include billing, collections, referrals, appointments, patient contact, and secretarial duties. Willingness to travel within 30 minutes and float to various locations is required.

Responsibilities
  • Answer and direct all communication courteously, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and office policies.
  • Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously, making them feel welcome.
  • Assist patients with sign-in, respond to their needs, and support financial responsibilities like verifying insurance and processing payments.
  • Manage office supplies and equipment, notifying management when supplies are low.
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out processes accurately and efficiently, including verifying demographic and insurance information, collecting payments, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Promote patient satisfaction through excellent service and communication.
  • Maintain organized filing and record systems, including assembling and retrieving patient records.
  • Adapt work schedule as needed, including working additional hours and cross-covering when necessary.
  • Serve as a pre-loader for the EMR system and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing needs, and demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and dedication to patient care.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a receptionist or in a medical office.
  • Experience with Epic.
Licenses & Certifications
  • CPR certification (preferred).
