Job summary

NOMS Healthcare in Fairlawn, OH is seeking a Medical Receptionist for a full-time, on-site role. You will greet patients, collect co-pays, update records, and coordinate appointments while maintaining a helpful, professional image in a busy clinic.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, typing and computer skills, and at least one year of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare. Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus and patient privacy (HIPAA) is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Typing ability and Word processing/computer skills.
• Minimum of one-year experience in a customer service setting.
• Preferably six months’ receptionist experience in health care setting and experience with office equipment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
• Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic policies/procedures, paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a polite, prompt, helpful manner.
• Distribute forms for patient completion via clipboard or electronic devices.
• Update and maintain patient data, insurance information and collect co-pays/outstanding balances.
• Answer phones in a pleasant manner and handle inquiries, messages, and information.
• Scan documents and organize in appropriate folders/charts.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
• Complete necessary paperwork and use computer systems for billing information.
• Maintain a clean, orderly waiting area and assist with scheduling procedures and patient appointments.
