Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Receptionist for our General Surgery Practice in Massachusetts. You will be the friendly first point of contact, handling appointment scheduling, insurance verification, copay collections, referrals, and patient registration.

Support providers with chart preparation and communications while maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The position offers a day shift and benefits starting on day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical office or billing preferred.
• Excellent keyboard skills and proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and handle front-desk communications in person or by phone.
• Verify insurance, collect copays, and process referrals and prior authorizations.

You will be responsible for a key front-desk role in a busy General Surgery practice, responsible for creating a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient. Handles appointment scheduling, insurance verification, copay collections, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient registration. Supports providers with chart prep, incoming and outgoing communications, and maintaining accurate records. A great fit for someone who is organized, personable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What you will do:

• Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
• Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
• Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
• Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred
• Excellent keyboard skills. Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products. Accuracy and dependability required.

Pay Range: $17.50 - $23.80

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
