This position requires candidates who are bilingual (English/Spanish).

The Medical Receptionist at our Mayfair location is one of a patient’s first contacts with our ChenMed family and serves as a patient advocate, delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves checking patients in and out, providing basic secretarial and administrative support. The incumbent reports to an Assistant Center Manager or Center Manager and may receive supervision from a designated Lead. A successful team member is committed to providing superior service and building trusting relationships with patients.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interact appropriately with patients, record information, greet, check-in, check-out, or schedule appointments.
  • Use computer systems to update patient information, print forms, and schedule appointments, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Answer phones, take detailed messages, and direct them appropriately.
  • Communicate clearly about ChenMed clinical personnel to patients and others.
  • Verify insurance via phone or online, collect copays, and assist with scheduling follow-up and referral appointments.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Act as HEDIS champion by providing visibility of HEDIS needs for scheduled patients.
  • Present customer service surveys during checkout and escalate issues for immediate resolution.
  • Participate in daily and weekly huddles to discuss patient information.
Other responsibilities may include:
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
  • Review patient and appointment information for accuracy.
  • Transmit correspondence via mail, email, or fax.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or modified by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for serving others.
  • Knowledge of ChenMed’s products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with phones, computers, and basic IT systems.
  • Professional and courteous communication skills.
  • Attention to detail for accuracy in reports and data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Positive, professional attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% regionally and nationwide.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical clinic or similar setting required.
  • BLS certification preferred.
