Company Overview

American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S., providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our centers focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location has an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability.

AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position works directly with a franchised location. Responsibilities and benefits can vary between franchises.

Job Summary

To accurately check patients in and out by verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining patient records. Maintain patient flow and provide positive patient relations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the clinic for opening daily, review the facility, open systems, and prepare registration packets.
• Greet patients, provide initial paperwork, and collect insurance and ID copies.
• Register patients, update records, verify insurance, and check patients out.
• Handle patient payments and address billing issues.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, provide excellent service, and assist with follow-ups and documentation.
• Balance daily charges and complete closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. Prior medical clerical experience preferred. Basic computer skills, accuracy, positive customer service, professional appearance, and clear communication skills.

Compensation

$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
