Job description

Preferred Primary Care Physicians is currently recruiting for a full-time Medical Receptionist for a practice located in the Charleroi area.

General Overview

The Medical Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact, greeting, instructing, and directing all visitors and callers with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in a professional manner.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Greet patients arriving according to office guidelines.
  2. Check-in patients, verify and update all information in the electronic medical system, and collect co-payments.
  3. Check-out patients and schedule necessary follow-up appointments.
  4. Maintain computer scheduling in accordance with office protocol.
  5. Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages, and provide information as per protocol.
  6. Collect payments and ensure proper cash reconciliation.
  7. Provide clerical support as needed.
  8. Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
  9. Perform closeout procedures, gather encounter forms, and handle daily coding, batching, billing, and hospital visit activities.
Qualifications
Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience/On-the-Job Training

Minimum six (6) months of medical front office experience. Knowledge of the healthcare field and medical terminology is required.
