Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Physicist for a full-time Day shift in Michigan. The role includes calibration of diagnostic imaging equipment, radiation safety program leadership, and collaboration with Radiologists and technologists to ensure high-quality patient imaging and safety standards.

The candidate will oversee acceptance testing, equipment commissioning, and adherence to regulatory requirements, with opportunities for professional growth in a nationally recognized health system.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Medical Physics is required.
• Board certification in Diagnostic Radiological Physics is required.
• One year of clinical physics experience is required.
• PhD in Medical Physics is preferred.
• ABSNM certification is preferred.
• Three years of clinical physics experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning for resource allocation with Radiologists, administrators, and technologists, including equipment usage, selection and replacement, staffing requirements, budget preparation, and review of departmental policies and procedures.
• Responsible for performance specification, acceptance testing and verification, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Guides technologists in the use of new technology.
• Supervises calibration, preventive maintenance, repair of equipment, and documentation of all relevant information.
• Develops and administers the Radiation Safety Program, acting as Radiation Safety Officer for the institution, including ALARA and patient/staff dose assessment.
• Coordinates and leads committees such as the Institutional Radiation Safety Committee and MRI Safety Committee.
