Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Medical Office Specialist I to join our team. The role covers front desk and back office duties, including patient check-in, insurance verification, referrals and authorizations, co-pay collection, and scheduling of visits, testing, and procedures.

The position will include EKGs, vitals (manual BP), and general Medical Assistant tasks in an outpatient setting, with a focus on empathetic, patient-centered care and alignment with Mercy’s mission.

Qualifications

• Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of one year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide front desk and back office support for providers, including patient check-in, insurance verification (referrals/authorizations), co-pay collections, and scheduling of visits, testing and procedures as needed.
• Perform EKGs and vitals, including manual blood pressures, in outpatient settings; provide Medical Assistant support as needed.
• Support Mercy Medical Center's mission by ensuring easy access to high-quality care, service and value for all patients.
