University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking a Medical Office Assistant for RiverChase Flowood. You will support physicians and clinicians with clerical, billing and general medical office tasks in an ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling, verifying demographics, assisting with exams, and processing billing and records in compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines. Strong communication and multitasking are essential for success.

• Knowledge of general medical office procedures.
• Good telephone skills and excellent customer service.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Ability to type 35 wpm.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Basic accounting principles.

Mansioni

• Answers telephones, greets patients, files records, verifies patient demographics and insurance information, schedules appointments, and handles billing and bookkeeping.
• Checks-in patients, assists with histories, verifies information, prepares charts, may assist providers during exams, and performs other office procedures.
• Educates patients on medical issues within guidelines; assists with scheduling, coding and billing of procedures.
• Maintains exam rooms and equipment; cleans rooms and escorts patients as needed; manages supplies and medications for the clinic.
• Adheres to safety, HIPAA, OSHA, infection control and medical records requirements.
