Qualifications

• Certification CMA/CCMA/NCCT/NHA/AMT/NAHP/AAH credentials accepted.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for patient and staff interactions.
• Ability to collect, record and maintain data with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, obtains medical histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with examinations.
• Performs routine procedures such as venipuncture, catheterization and sterile dressing changes as per protocols; collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
• Maintains examination room readiness, sterilizes instruments, and manages stock of medications and supplies.
• Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within guidelines.
• Performs administrative duties: phones, greet patients, update/file records, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, billing and bookkeeping.
• Adheres to safety, environmental and infection control practices.
