The University of Virginia's Medical Services, a unit within the Department of Student Health and Wellness, is seeking a Medical Office Coordinator to provide administrative support to its medical professional personnel. The Medical Office Coordinator is responsible for the management of patients and other files and serves as the front-line contact for patients and visitors by addressing concerns over the phone and greeting them in person. They may obtain insurance information and authorization, as well as may schedule appointments and laboratory tests. They perform assigned work under supervision. This position is in Medical Services.
This is a full-time, benefited, overtime-eligible position with UVa benefits. Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; repetitive motion: computer and mouse use; proficient communicative skill across spoken, writing domains; adequate auditory and visual skills; attention to detail; and ability to write legibly and compose messages clearly and concisely.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $20-22/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will pass a criminal background check and a drug screen. This position will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
