Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Medical Assisting program or 1–3 years of related experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms and ensures cleanliness and equipment availability.
• Interviews patients to obtain medical information and perform measurements.
• Prepares patients for examinations and treatments.
• Obtains vital statistics including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
• Records findings in medical records and informs the clinician.
• Collects blood, tissue or other specimens and labels routes as required.
• Performs electrocardiograms (EKGs) when needed and assists clinicians during procedures.
• Maintains supplies and ensures proper draping and positioning of patients.
