Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate OR 1-3 years experience as a medical assistant, EMT, or CNA with valid certificate OR successful completion of Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program.
• Bilingual in Chinese Mandarin highly preferred.
• Salary detail indicating base compensation may vary by location, service line, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements plans for patient care with health care team; may record reason for visit for practitioner review.
• Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures; documents findings in the medical record.
• Collects specimens and assists providers in specimen collection following infection control protocols.
• Performs daily controls and calibration of laboratory equipment; reports inaccurate controls to supervisor.
• Performs ECGs and phlebotomy as ordered; adheres to infection control standards including PPE and patient isolation.
