Responsibilities

• Provide constant and efficient operations of the physician medical office, including scheduling, patient registration, telephone triage, medical records, billing, and collections.
• Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation, patient identification, check‑in/out, charge posting, cash management, and appointment scheduling.
• Provide customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation, and referrals management.
• Monitor the clinic appointment line and schedule appointments for clients from outside medical, hospital, and correctional systems.
• Answer multi‑line telephones and take payments from clients for clinical services.
• Complete client registration and documentation, and schedule interpreters for clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of patient‑care experience in a healthcare facility, or Certified Nursing Assistant, or completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant course at an accredited institution, or EMT/Paramedic certification, or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform job functions while standing and sitting; walking; climbing stairs; working from elevated areas; confined spaces; kneeling; bending and twisting at the waist; squatting; gross motor activities with fingers and hands; firm grasping; reaching overhead; repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders; lower extremity balance and coordination; reaching in all directions.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from floor to 36” unassisted; lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs.; exert up to 50 lbs. of force as needed.
• Maintain 20/40 vision (corrected); hearing acuity (corrected); gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements; manage stressful situations.
• Work rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment, tactile sensory functions, olfactory sensory function, respirator qualification initially and as required.
