Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Clarkston, MI is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant/Patient Care Tech to provide high-quality patient care and support across physician practices. You will greet patients, collect information, and assist with exams, injections, venipuncture, and basic testing while updating electronic medical records.

Prevailing duties include scheduling, registering patients, collecting co-pays, insurance verification, and coordinating follow-up care with clinicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech.
• Completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, LPN, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
• BLS certification within 6 months for Rural Health Designation clinics.
• For float positions, travel to between clinics may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support exam procedures under supervision.
• Register patients, schedule appointments, and collect payments.
• Assist with procedures, vitals, injections, venipuncture, and documentation.
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure patient confidentiality.
• Communicate with patients and staff to coordinate care and follow-up.
