Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Community Medical Center team in Michigan. The role supports patient examinations, vital signs, injections, venipuncture, and other procedures under supervision.

You will assist with room prep, documentation, and coordination of care. This is a full-time position requiring a high school diploma (or equivalent) and relevant healthcare training; BLS within six months is required for designated clinics, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech.
• Completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician.
• For Rural Health Designation clinics, BLS certification within 6 months of hire is required.
• Float positions may require travel between clinics.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care procedures including vital signs and assisting with exams.
• Prepares examining rooms including turning on computer terminals and stocking supplies.
• Organizes forms for physicals and related paperwork.
• Assists with care by preparing patient and equipment, documenting interventions, and administering medications or samples as directed.
• Completes lab slips and referral forms as directed; assists with gynecological exams and office visits.
