Job summary

Akua Behavioral Health seeks a Medical Manager to oversee the IMS program with end-to-end responsibility for delivery, coordination, and compliance. The role includes supervising nursing staff, ensuring accurate EMR documentation, and maintaining regulatory standards.

The position requires an LVN license, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of nursing experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred and a health screen with TB clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end incidental medical services program delivery (IMS).
• Coordinate provider activities, orders, storage, observation, and disposal as applicable.
• Ensure EMR medical documentation (physician notes, orders, med logs) is complete and compliant.
• Serve as second-in-command to the Program Manager for daily operations.
• Train clinical technicians and staff on IMS procedures and accurate documentation.

Position: Medical Manager

Type: Salary, Full-Time, Exempt

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 per year + $3k signing bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Incidental Medical Services (IMS): The Medical Manager is responsible for the program's delivery of IMS from end-to-end (incl. provider coordination, ordering, storage, observation, destruction).
• Documentation: The Medical Manager is responsible for the program’s medical documentation in the EMR (incl. physician notes, medication orders, med logs) for the program – whether directly imputed themselves or by another clinical staff.
• Compliance & Audits: The Medical Manager will regularly audit medical documentation in the EMR to ensure the program remains in accordance the relevant policies and standards. They will be responsible for leading any relevant activities as indicated in company policies and procedures – e.g. Infection Control (IC).
• Second-in-Command: The Medical Manager is the secondary administrative authority with regard to the day-to-day operations of the facility (behind the Program Manager).
• Staff Training: The Medical Manager is responsible for training Clinical Technicians and program staff on any incidental medical services and relevant documentation.

Qualifications:

• License/Credentials: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) (required)
• Education: High school diploma or GED (required), bachelor's degree (preferred), or equivalent vocational schooling in a relevant field (e.g. nursing school)
• Experience: 1+ year(s) of nursing experience (required), 1+ year(s) of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred)
• Additional: Current Health Screen / Physical (required) ; TB Test Clearance (required)
