Job summary

Lee Hecht Harrison Nederland B.V. partners with a civil litigation firm in Seattle to hire a skilled Litigation Paralegal focused on medical malpractice.

The role supports case development from inception through settlement or trial, with a 1,400 billable-hour requirement and a collaborative environment. Candidates should have 4+ years of litigation paralegal experience, familiarity with Washington rules, discovery, trial prep, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably including medical malpractice.
• Strong knowledge of Washington State and local court rules.
• Demonstrated understanding of the full discovery process.
• Trial preparation experience (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines (preferred).
• Experience with billing time.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed chronologies of medical records
• Communicate with clients, attorneys, court personnel, experts, and other legal professionals
• Draft authorizations, stipulations, correspondence, memoranda, discovery, pleadings, and other legal documents
• Manage case deadlines and support efficient case development
• Review, organize, and summarize large volumes of medical records
• Conduct research on medical issues, jury verdicts, and expert witnesses
• Oversee the discovery process and maintain case status updates
• Assist with trial preparation and deposition preparation
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support litigation teams
