Job summary

Talis Group, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support its Medical Malpractice Defense practice group in Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will have civil litigation experience with a preference for medical malpractice or healthcare-related cases.

This full-time, on-site role offers a full benefits package. Salary range is $60,000–$65,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in medical malpractice or insurance defense.
Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting medical records and terminology.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in preparing, filing, and serving legal documents in state and federal courts.
Manage case files from intake through trial, including medical records indexing.
Obtain, review, and summarize medical records and bills; prepare chronologies.
Draft discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
Coordinate with expert witnesses including retention and scheduling.
Manage case calendars and court deadlines.
Conduct factual and legal research using Lexis/Westlaw or similar tools.
Provide trial preparation support with exhibits and witness materials.
Communicate with clients, healthcare providers, co-counsel, and court personnel.
