Job summary

Cole, Scott & Kissane is seeking an associate attorney to join our Medical Malpractice group in Florida. The role focuses on defending doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, and health care providers. You will take and defend depositions, draft motions, and participate in hearings and trials.

The position requires strong communication, problem-solving, and independent as well as team-based work capabilities, with prior civil litigation experience preferred.

Qualifications

Must be a licensed member of the Florida Bar.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Prior civil litigation experience required.

Responsibilities

Take and defend depositions.
Draft and argue dispositive motions.
Attend hearings, mediations, and trials.
Perform legal research and provide analysis of case law.
Prepare pleadings and correspondence.
Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.
Provide exemplary legal counsel to clients.
