Job summary

Abrams Fensterman LLP seeks an Associate Attorney for its Medical Malpractice Defense Department in New York. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of medical malpractice experience and will work closely with partners to defend clients in complex litigation.

The role requires strong writing, research, and organizational skills, with potential for a flexible work arrangement including one remote day per week. Base location is Lake Success, with travel across NYC venues and surrounding counties.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.
• 2–4 years of medical malpractice defense experience, including depositions and discovery.
• Admisson in New Jersey is a plus.
• Proficient in online research and medical records review.
• Excellent writing, organization and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and pleadings.
• Handle discovery, including conducting and defending depositions.
• Travel to multiple NYC venues and counties as needed.
• Review medical records and prepare cases for trial.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in court proceedings.
• Maintain communication with clients and opposing counsel throughout litigation.
