Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New York.
• 2-4 years of medical malpractice litigation defense experience, including depositions and discovery.
• Admission in New Jersey is a plus.
• Proficient in online research, electronic billing codes, and medical records review.
• Excellent writing skills, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Remote workday per week possible.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents including motions, briefs, and pleadings.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including conducting and defending depositions.
• Travel to multiple venues, including NYC venues, Nassau and Suffolk Counties, Rockland, Orange, and Westchester Counties.
• Review medical records and other documents to prepare cases for trial.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in court proceedings as necessary.
• Maintain communication with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process.
