Job summary

Orion Placement in Nashville is seeking a litigation attorney to defend healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases. You will draft pleadings, manage written discovery, take depositions, and participate in motion hearings and trial preparation.

Initially on-site in Nashville with mentorship from an experienced team; after year one, hybrid flexibility may be possible as you grow your courtroom skills and assume increasing responsibility.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• 2+ years of legal experience preferred; applicants with less experience encouraged.
• Civil litigation, insurance defense or medical malpractice defense experience is a plus.
• Strong legal research, writing, communication and analytical skills.
• Interest in hands-on litigation and courtroom experience.
• Ability to work in Nashville office during the first year.

Responsibilities

• Represent healthcare professionals and organizations in medical malpractice defense litigation.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and other court filings.
• Prepare and manage written discovery, including interrogatories and document production.
• Take and defend depositions while developing case strategies.
• Attend and argue motions in court, building valuable litigation and advocacy skills.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys on complex cases and prepare for increasing trial responsibilities.
