Responsibilities

• Manage a docket of medical malpractice cases from intake through resolution, ensuring timely compliance with procedural deadlines and client communication.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, pretrial orders, and settlement documents.
• Conduct thorough legal research and factual investigation, including review and analysis of medical records and retention/coordination of expert witnesses.
• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and develop trial strategy in collaboration with partners and senior counsel.
• Handle court appearances, hearings, and motion practice; prepare and argue motions as appropriate.
• Lead trial preparation and serve as lead or co-counsel at trial, including jury selection, opening and closing statements, and witness examination.
• Negotiate settlements and mediations with opposing counsel, insurers, and clients while preserving client interests.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates, paralegals, and support staff; coordinate with litigation support and case management teams.
• Maintain accurate case files, billing records, and adhere to professional conduct rules and firm policies.
