Cherry Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist I for diverse laboratory tests and responsibilities. The successful candidate will ensure accurate results, oversee compliance with regulations, and maintain safety standards while working in a collaborative team dedicated to patient care and recovery. Cherry Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Medical Laboratory Technologist I. Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory, this position is responsible for a wide variety of both moderate and high complexity laboratory tests. Professional judgement is a requirement for this position. The person will be responsible for producing accurate and reliable test results which contribute to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of physiological and pathological conditions. This position is for a Generalist with responsibility as a lead technologist in one of the specialist areas in the laboratory. CAP regulatory standards will be followed and adhered to these standards. Cherry Hospital performs Hematology/Urinalysis, Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Miscellaneous manual test.
*This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Anticipated VacanciesCherry HospitalBachelor s degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution
OR
Associate degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in a medical laboratory
OR
Completion of a Certified Laboratory Assistant course in medical technology
OR
a comparable course and three years of experience in a medical laboratory
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
