Job summary

Family Health West in western Colorado seeks a Medical Technician/MT to perform determinations on blood and body fluids, run tests, and ensure accuracy. This full-time evening/night position requires rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field, ASCP certification, and a minimum of three years hospital lab experience. Strong teamwork and strict quality control are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science or related field preferred.
• Current ASCP certified as Medical Technician or equivalent; licensure required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of three years clinical laboratory experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform determinations on bodily fluids (pregnancy tests, urinalysis, CBC) and report results.
• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance; be present as scheduled.
• Communicate necessary information to colleagues as appropriate.
• Collect body fluids and materials (urine, blood, throat cultures).
• Perform and review quality control; investigate and correct issues.
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration as needed.
• Maintain inventory control of supplies and reagents.
• Assist with QC procedures and interpretation of results.
• Work cooperatively with staff to support patient care activities.
• Solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions.
• Interpret a range of written, verbal, diagram, or schedule instructions.
