Job summary

UCHealth is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform diagnostic testing in the Lab Blood Products department in Aurora, CO. This is an onsite role with an evening shift and a full-time schedule of 80 hours per pay period.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or MLS, have MT/MLS certification (AMT/ASCP or ASCP), and state licensure if required; certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or MLS program.
• Certification as MT/MLS by AMT/ASCP or ASCP, or categorical ASCP certification; state licensure if required; certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.
• Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements.
• Performs projects as assigned and serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision; fast-paced environment; take appropriate action.
