Job summary

The Valley Health System is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist for core lab functions in Nevada. You will analyze laboratory specimens and report results in accordance with established protocols, while supporting Lab Technicians and Lab Assistants and assisting the Lead Medical Technologist.

Qualified candidates hold BSMT/ASCP or equivalent, with NV licensure required and ongoing certification. Three years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSMT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA'88.
• Three (3) years of experience as Medical Technologist preferred.
• NV license/certification requirements must be maintained per Nevada Board rules.

Responsibilities

• Analyze laboratory specimens and report results per protocol and procedures.
• Serve as a resource for Medical Laboratory Technicians and Lab Assistants; support the Lead Medical Technologist.

Qualifications

Education:

BSMT(ASCP) or equivalent as defined by CLIA'88

Experience:

Three (3) years of as Medical Technologist is preferred.

Technical Skills:

General bench tech skills required to provide coverage in all modalities

License/Certification:

Nevada State Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist. ASCP or equivalent board registration/education required to satisfy Nevada License requirements must be maintained.

New CLS graduates must receive certification within 6 months of hire.

New graduates or applicants that do not currently have a NV license, must obtain a NV state provisional license prior to hire and must obtain a permanent license upon expiration of the provisional license.

Other:

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide high quality of patient care appropriately (specific age competent). Must possess appropriate people skills, organization and attention to detail. Must desire to act as a resource and provide assistance as required.
