Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing and report results to physicians in a timely manner.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology and be licensed by the Florida Board with appropriate specialties. This position may offer a sign-on bonus under certain conditions and requires full-time, on-site work.

Qualifications

• Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Licensed by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist with added specialties in clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and/or serology.

Responsibilities

• Performs a full range of waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing; reports results.
• Confirms test results' accuracy and precision.
• Reports laboratory findings to the pathologist and other physicians on a timely basis.
• Utilizes knowledge of testing procedures to interpret results and troubleshoot problems encountered during testing.

Education

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Licensed by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 483 (Health Testing Services), Part I (Clinical Laboratory Personnel) with added specialties in clinical chemistry, and/or hematology, and/or microbiology, and/or serology.
