Job description

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Scientist to join our team! You will be responsible for performing medical tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

Our 24/7 hospitals require staff to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, with some departments rotating through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Responsibilities :

1. Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients
2. Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
3. Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
4. Monitor inventory samples and supplies
5. Maintain a clean work environment
6. Work under the supervision of a medical technologist

Qualifications :

1. Previous experience as a clinical technician or in related fields
2. Familiarity with common medical terminology
3. Experience in a laboratory setting
4. Strong organizational skills
5. Must be ASCP certified
6. Degree or sufficient science credits to qualify for ASCP (Copy of degree or transcripts)
7. Copy of MLT Certification by an approved organization such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (NCA). Copy of degree or transcripts
8. BLS certification (American Heart Association approved) — initial certification not required for acceptance
9. Flu shot within the past year — initial vaccination not required for acceptance

Pay rate: $32/hr plus benefits including paid holidays, 80 hours of vacation, health, dental, and vision options, as well as short/long-term disability and life insurance. A $1000 sign-on bonus is offered after working the first 30 days.
