Overview

Pride Health is hiring for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to support our client’s medical facility based in Houston, TX 77030. This is a great opportunity to join a top-tier healthcare organization, supporting the Blood Bank department.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to department SOPs.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving as needed.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain testing bench supplies and assist with specimen processing when required.
• Ensure a safe work environment and follow PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification preferred but not required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Blood Bank experience required.
• State Medical Technologist license may be required (as per local regulations).
• Skills: Proficiency in laboratory procedures and instrument troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with lab information systems is a plus.

• Job Type: 13 Weeks contact
• Schedule: Evening shift: 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM Monday - Friday/40 hrs/week
• Pay Range: $46-$53/ Hour

Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
