Job summary

MaineHealth's NorDx laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and monitor lab testing of patient specimens, interpret results, and report findings with accuracy. The role emphasizes quality control and instrument maintenance to ensure reliable patient results.

Well-qualified candidates with less than 2 years of experience may receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus; those with more than 2 years may receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus, prorated for part-time or per diem roles.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a similar field is required.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician within six months of hire (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and monitor laboratory testing of patient specimens.
• Confirm, interpret, correlate, and report normal and abnormal results; recognize problems and initiate resolutions; ensure accuracy, quality control and instrument maintenance.
