Job summary

MaineHealth's NorDx division is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician. The role involves independently performing and monitoring lab tests on patient specimens, confirming and reporting results, and ensuring instrument maintenance and quality control.

Eligible candidates may receive a $7,500 sign-on bonus for <2 years experience or $15,000 for more experienced applicants, prorated for part-time. Relocation and temporary housing are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician required within six months of hire by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
• Experience: N/A
• May be asked to work at other MaineHealth sites/locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform and monitor laboratory testing of patient specimens and confirm, interpret, correlate and report normal and abnormal results.
• Recognize technical, instrumental and physiological problems and initiate resolutions; ensure accuracy, quality control and instrument maintenance.
