Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Lab Technician to independently perform and monitor laboratory testing on patient specimens, ensuring accuracy and quality control. The role may involve work at other sites, with a certification due within six months of hire.

Sign-on bonuses are available, with higher amounts for more experienced candidates, and relocation or temporary housing support may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a similar field required.
• License/Certifications: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician required within six months of hire by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and monitor laboratory testing of patient specimens.
• Confirm, interpret, correlate, and report results; recognize problems and initiate resolutions.
• Ensure accuracy, quality control and required instrument maintenance.
