Job summary

Sanford Health Aberdeen is seeking a Laboratory professional to perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing across the full spectrum of laboratory work. You will follow SOPs, ensure safety, and maintain quality and regulatory compliance while collaborating with other departments throughout the enterprise.

The ideal candidate holds an Associates or Bachelors degree in Laboratory Science, with MLT/MLS certification or registry-eligibility, and may require ND licensure or BLS

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science is required.
• Bachelors degree in Laboratory Science is required.
• National certification for MLT or CLT (e.g., ASCP) or registry-eligibility with completion within 12 months of employment.
• ND licensure or provisional license may be required if working in North Dakota.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Laboratory Science required. MLT

Bachelors degree in Laboratory Science required. MLS

Medical Lab Technician $25.00 - 34.50

Medical Lab Scientist $27.50 - 44.00

Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
